1998: A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY
As Blair County businesses, schools and medical offices were expanding in the late 90’s, general contractors, business owners and facility managers were looking for a reliable solution to the complicated job of commercial window treatments. Father and son, Denny and Steve Hamilton, recognized the market need and knew they could provide the answer. In 1998, they started their own business in the family basement, with the Altoona School District as their first major client. The father-son team soon gained a reputation for delivering smart window treatment solutions, on-time, on-budget and with top quality workmanship.
EARLY 2000’S: IN ON THE GROUND FLOOR
In the early 2000’s Denny and Steve invited Brian Himes to join their partnership. Brian’s commitment to quality workmanship and extensive product knowledge matched theirs, but with a different area of focus: Brian was a flooring expert. Together, they could provide a broader solution to Blair County’s commercial interior needs. With shared values, complimentary products and a shake of hands, a new business was born. Denny, Steve and Brian named their business “Top to Bottom” to convey the scope of their offer. As their business grew, they moved out of the Hamilton family basement and opened a small office at Orchard Plaza in Altoona.
2005-2017: TOP TO BOTTOM AND THEN SOME
Responding to the needs of their clients, Top to Bottom gradually expanded their product portfolio to include furniture, specialty items and wall coverings. A further evolution of the business came with the addition of a team of hand-picked designers and the integration of state-of-the art design technology. A highly experienced project manager was brought in to orchestrate the work of the skilled installation crews. By 2007, Top to Bottom could handle any commercial interior project, from concept through completion. In 2008, they opened a State College office and in 2012 they expanded their Altoona office, relocating to the Eldorado Plaza.
2018: TOP TO BOTTOM BECOMES T2B
In 2018, Top to Bottom re-designed their own brand with a cleaner more modern look, reflecting their growing emphasis on design. Shortening their name to T2B, and launching a new logo and website, the company positioned itself for the future, while embracing its past.
